Well, Operation ‘ChocChic’ was executed smoothly and with confidence.
Unfortunately I now have a dilemma.
Having purchased said replacement Easter Eggs, I have discovered that not only are they bigger than the originals (I could live with that) but they now each contain a Cadbury’s Cream Egg Mug in them!
This could be a problem. First – it is pretty obvious that when my kids thank their Grannie for the eggs they will mention the mug. This will no doubt lead my mother to wonder how a mug happened to be in the box. Knowing her knowing me (aha!) she won’t wonder too long and will deduce that there has been some egg shenanigans going on and i will be lead suspect. She will then berate herself for dropping them off too early, leaving temptation in my path, and roll her eyes and sigh in that ‘oh David, really?’ kind of way.
So, now we have the return of the ‘Guilt’ Stealth Stressor.
I have no option but to fall back on the ‘honesty is always the best policy’ approach and just cough the job (after all I can’t really ask my kids not to mention the mug now can I? Can I?).
Let’s be right here. I’ve replaced the ‘misplaced’ eggs with larger versions and will admit my guilty secret. What better way to RESOLVE a stealth stressor such as a guilty conscience?
Sigh… I feel so much lighter now.
And all before I head off to France for a week for a great and long overdue time out – a Guitar playing course near La Rochelle. will report back, freshly chilled and ready to take on the world!
SG out….
